Jorgensen joy at joining Archers

Sara Jorgensen can’t wait to get started at Cardiff Met Archers after the Swedish player was unveiled as the Welsh club’s latest acquisition ahead of the brand new WBBL season.

Bringing experience of playing College basketball in the States at Young Harris, as well as in the Swedish domestic leagues, Jorgensen is looking forward to getting some WBBL court time on her resume.

She stated: “I’m very happy and grateful to join the Cardiff Met Archers family. I’ve been to the UK many times and have fallen in love with the place over the years.

“So when I got the chance to do a Masters degree and continue my basketball career in Cardiff I was very excited. I’m looking forward to growing and to learning as much as possible from the new culture and people that will surround me.

“I hope I can have a positive impact on them as well,” added the Stockholm native.

Archers’ player-coach Stef Collins commented: “We’re really excited about Sara joining us here in Cardiff, a place where she can continue to develop combining both her basketball and her studies at post-graduate level.

“Sara is another high energy player who will further deepen our backcourt this season".

Jorgensen joins the newly recruited Robyn Lewis, as well as the returning Sarah Wagstaff, Laura Shanahan, Chloe Richards and Collins.
